Salvation is the GIFT that God wants to give to us to begin a personal relationship with Him. To receive this gift, you only have to believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and was resurrected. By accepting the gift of salvation, you are promised to live in heaven (like Jesus) and eternally with God. You are also promised to have the Holy Spirit, to guide you as you build this new relationship with God.

History

First Baptist Church, Georgetown was founded October 5, 1862 by the Reverend Sandy Alexander, a former slave.

Ministry work is an important component of the Church. It is through the various ministries that the Church is able to address the needs of its members and the community.

Our Pastor

Pastor Robert K. Pines is a native of Washington, D.C. and is the youngest of nine children. Pastor Pines is an alumnus of Dunbar Senior High School of Washington, D.C.
